This is one of my all time favourite cross stitches that I have done. It took quite a while, but the beauty of this one was that there were lots of small bits, so it was great to finish a small patch and feel like you were actually getting somewhere. I also love the details in this one - my favourite parts are the tassels on the doilies.
I also had this one framed professionally. It cost a fortune, but it was worth it, because it has buttons and charms and they build up the frame mat to make sure the glass stays off them.
I haven't mastered the art of taking a photo of glass, so I apologise for the glare. Hopefully you can still get the idea.....
I just love the detail in these tassels. |
A different type of tassel, but so, so cute! |
Have a great weekend....
Hi! I know this is an old post, but I was Google-ing cross-stitch pieces and this one showed up. I ADORE all the little details on this one. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, I really enjoyed stitching it, nice to get your feedback!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful piece. I was wondering where I can get a kit like this. Please let me know.
ReplyDeleteLove the close-ups! Saving them! I just found this kit at a Household sale for 99 cents. I just about jumped out of my skin. Dimensions - "Charts & Charms" Designed by Lynn Waters Busa. #72378 - Sew Cozy I am SOOO excited to start this project!!

DeleteThanks Graciela and JCMITQuilts! So nice to get comments. I was given the kit for Christmas one year. It included the pattern and charms but that is all. I had to buy the Aida and threads, but it was all worth it, as it is one of my favs.

How did you do the tassels?
ReplyDeleteHi Gloria, use 2 threads, make a loop and tack at the top to hold it in place, then cut the loop.
