Bathina time!!

This is the little cupboard I have near my shower in my bathroom.  I bought the Bathina Shower Cap at Macy's in Hawaii last time I was there.  I love that cap.  I've actually never worn it cause I just like the look of it.  I use another one that's cute, but not nearly as cute as Bathina.

Whatsoever things are lovely....

This is one of my most favourite cross stitches.   It was quite fun to make because it had lots of small items to make up the big picture.  I started on it just after my sister got married and all the friends and family went home.  So I guess it was the treat I had for myself to do after the wedding excitement had passed.

Cutest little bags for the cutest little girls

These are some little bags I made my sister's little girl and her birthday twin.  When Amy was born, Tara had been born only hours before.  Their parents had met at pre-natal classes, and they were pleasantly surprised when they saw each other post babies.

A bombardment of handmade cards....

The other day I was going through some of my old photos looking for old craft projects I've done over the years.  I didn't realise how many hand made cards I have made.

My handpainted lemon plate

Most people know this plate from my mum's kitchen, but not everyone knows I painted it.  Not long after starting at my current place of work, some of the girls were going to ceramics classes.  I decided to go along with them, and I made a couple of kinda cool things.  One of which is this plate.

30th anniversary celebration quilt

So I've just realised that I haven't mentioned one of my most important craft items.... I call it my 30th anniversary celebration quilt.  I made it the year I turned 30 (not that long ago), and I wanted to include photos of my loved ones on it.

Fantastical fabric frame!!

So last time I was in Hawaii, I fell in love with that gorgeous store Cinnamon Girl.  There were a couple of stores that I came across while I was there, one on Waikiki, and another at Ala Moana.  I spent so much time looking at all the beautiful things they had, and on my last day there I bought a dress and the below fabric picture frame.

The delights of spring in Canberra

Ok, this is weird, this photo shouldn't be rotated, I am really not sure how that happened, or how to fix it.  Anyway, I was enjoying the colours in my beautiful little garden last weekend, so I took some shots of flowers etc which was a good thing, because this weekend, it went from the most delightful spring weather to a miserable, wet and freezing weekend.... of course we had visitors so that explains it!!!

Another baby cross stitch sampler

This design came from one of my lovely friends at work.  She is an avid stitcher and is AMAZING at it too.  Her x-stitches are pretty much the same on both sides... mine are a complete mess of knots on the opposite side.

Anyway, it is a really simple and effective design.  It has 'fuzzy' cotton for the bunny (which is really hard to see in the picture), but you need to stitch it first, then fuzz it up.  Then you can stitch the rest of the design.  I think the original text says something like "Good Night, Sleep Tight", but I think baby's name and DOB makes it really special.

Amy's Library Bag

She's way too young to use it as a library bag (she's not even 2 yet), but my sister asked me to make my niece a bag that she'd be able to use to take her sheets to and from childcare.  I thought I would embroider her name onto it so if it was taken home accidently by someone else, they would see who to return it to ;)

God made us family

This was a project I created a few years ago.  I had been to the craft store down the road to get some paper crafts and I just happened to look through the quilts and patterns and saw a similar design with the quote "God made us sisters, love made us friends".  I was going to make it for my sister, then I thought, I could change it slightly and it could represent my family (mum, my sister and I).

Quilted cot blanket and personalised one...

So I went a little sheep crazy for dear little Sam.  My aunty has the most wonderful embroidery machine(s) and she is extremely generous.  When I told her that I had designed a cross stitch with a sheep for Sam, she went on a search to find some sheep designs to electronically embroider.

Blue Nose cross stitch

Ok, maybe one day I will get the hang of this blogging thing.  To be honest, I had forgotten I had set this up.  The main reason why I wanted to create a blog is because I love creating things (mainly crafty stuff) and I love reading other people's blogs.  Hopefully I will get into the habit of posting more than once a year!
